The Everyday Life

Isabelle lives with her three girls and husband just outside of Zurich. Her passion is photography and interior, and her Instagram @miniundstil shows how they live and what they cherish. With a love affair for fresh flowers and a toned colour palette, she re-decorates different rooms repeatedly. On warm days the children romp around in the garden, occupy themselves in the playhouse, jump in the pool, eat ice cream and let the sunshine on their noses.

For me, the children's rooms should radiate a cosy warmth. They must feel comfortable, but the children's room must also be practical. I always try to create a balance between style and functionality.

Isabelle thinks the cosiest corners in the children's room are the beds. Besides the many soft pillows, cosy duvet and cute teddy bears and dolls, they also make it for sweet dreams. The children love the bookshelf between their beds for breaks and immersion, and at times, the rolling elephant from Bada & Bou and stacking stones are very popular. "The children play with it every day and can let their creativity run free".

Isabelle prefers to use the same furniture series in neutral, timeless colours for children's furniture. In particular white and natural wood tones. "If bed, closet, shelf and chest of drawers match, the children's room immediately gets a harmonious look," Isabelle says, and continues, "I also prefer high-quality furniture for the children's rooms, that grows with them".
